Thank you for participating in our recent survey on the most critical issues
facing our state during the 2024 legislative session. We were overwhelmed by the survey’s response, with thousands of individuals like you
sharing their opinion.
It may come as no surprise to you that the key
issue for our readers was ensuring lawmakers take up the initiatives submitted by Let's Go Washington, and then send them on to the people,
gaining a significant 66% of the vote. For a reminder, here are the initiative topics going before the legislature:
- Repealing the State's Carbon Tax
- Repealing the State Income Tax on Capital Gains
- Banning Future Local Incomes Taxes
- Allowing Police to Again Pursue Car Thieves
- Letting People Opt-Out of the
State’s Insolvent Long-Term Care Scheme
- Including Parental Rights in Our Public Education

The clear concern for the
fate of these initiatives – each submitted with over 400,000 signatures – highlights their significance in shifting the direction of our
state. It's clear that these issues resonate strongly with communities across our state.
That’s why, as we move forward, Shift WA is committed to keeping you informed about how the state legislature addresses
these initiatives. We believe in transparency and accountability, and your continued engagement is crucial in our delivering on those
goals.
To sustain our efforts and provide timely updates on legislative
developments, we are reaching out to you with a fundraising request in the new year. A contribution of $100, $50, or $25 will go a long way in
supporting our mission to report on the legislative process and keep you informed.
