John --
I know many of you are feeling anxious about the
current coronavirus outbreak and have many queries and concerns. I am
here to help and support you. Please feel free to contact me anytime
on [email protected] or call me on 03 434 7325. I have
been in contact with a number of people today already regarding
travel, supplies and other issues, I am more than willing to support
you.
Health information & advice:
The most up to date information regarding Covid-19 can be found here: https://covid19.govt.nz if you have
any issues accessing this please contact me.
Community Groups
I have been in touch with many local community groups across the
Waitaki electorate who are able to provide support to you at this
time. I will also have a donations box in my Oamaru office for you to
drop off any food or hygiene products which I will then drop off to
the local Salvation Army to help those less able. Please contact your
local food bank, Salvation Army and churches for support if needed or
to see where you can help if you are able.
Across the electorate:
I will be spending the next few weeks in Oamaru and around this
large electorate to support you at anytime. The effects of
this virus are being felt far and wide and you are not alone.
If you would like to meet with me while I am out and about across the
electorate, please email me and I will do my best to support you.
I will also be visiting a lot of local businesses across the
electorate next week to see how they are and how they are going. It is
very important to support them at this time especially those who
benefit from tourists. The government has announced a package to
support employers and businesses and information on this and how to
access the package can be found here: https://www.beehive.govt.nz/…/Wage%20subsidy%20scheme%20fac…
AGM's
Please note that my Oamaru AGM has been postponed until at least
after Easter. Covid-19 will have long term consequences for us all so
I appreciate that things go by. I am sorry to postpone it but we must
do what is best in these unprecedented times and take care of each
other. I would like to thank you for your support.

In my Oamaru office today
supporting you if need be.
Let’s all take care of each other during this tough time and
remember I am here to support and help you. I welcome anyone to come
into the Oamaru office if need be, we encourage you to please sanitise
when entering. We are constantly washing our hands or sanitising and
wiping down surfaces.
