Nearly ten years ago, President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law -- providing access to health care for millions of Americans. Yet since its adoption, it has been under attack.
Whether it was the 54 attempts by Congress to repeal the ACA from 2011-2014 or the 14 states that have still refused to expand Medicaid, many of these efforts to undermine the law were made possible by gerrymandering. Manipulated maps tipped the scales to extremes in states like North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Georgia.
Health care is on the line. That's why we're fighting to end the gerrymandering that has threatened the ACA and stalled progress on health care. Support our work for fair maps.
When we talk about health care being on the line, we're talking about the very real impacts that policy has on our lives.
This is what's on the line:
✓ Access to quality, affordable health care for 20 million people
✓ Protection from discrimination for 135 million people with pre-existing conditions
✓ Prohibiting insurance companies from charging women more based on their gender
✓ The ability for millions of young people to stay on their parents' plans
✓ Access to more affordable medicine for nearly 12 million seniors
All On The Line is committed to ending gerrymandering so that Congress and state legislatures will listen to their constituents and not to special interests -- but we need a strong grassroots movement to help advocate for fair maps.
