Happy Korean American Day, Los Angeles!
Our community is home to the largest Korean American population in the U.S., and I am proud to be your representative in Congress.
This week in the House, I led a bipartisan resolution commemorating today, January 13, as Korean American Day. This marks the 121st anniversary of the arrival of the first Korean immigrants to the United States on January 13, 1903.

The story of Korean Americans is integral to the American narrative, and I remain dedicated to ensuring this community receives the recognition and support it rightfully deserves, including:
- Securing $7 million for the first-ever Korean American National Museum (KANM)
- Passing the VALOR Act into law, ensuring equitable treatment for Korean American veterans.
- Introducing a bill to designate Koreatown’s post office after Korean American leader Dosan Ahn Chang Ho.
