This week, it was my privilege to welcome Vice President Kamala Harris to Georgia as she participated in a roundtable conversation on voting rights across America. As the daughter of a Civil Rights Movement leader, I have spent my entire life fighting for the freedom to vote and standing up when communities face attacks on this most fundamental freedom. I am grateful to Vice President Harris for speaking up on such a critical issue here in Georgia.
On Wednesday, I was thrilled to announce $6 million in federal funding for the Atlanta Regional Commission to support the expansion of metro Atlanta's regional network of DC fast chargers and provide free-of-charge Level 2 stations with locations in or near disadvantaged communities. This grant, made possible through the FY22-23 Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Grant Program, will widen the availability of charging infrastructure for Georgia's growing electric vehicle industry while sending benefits to historically underserved communities.
