Central and western New York is the birthplace of the women's movement, and as a central New Yorker, I'm so proud to have the support of NOW, the nation's largest organization working to advance women's rights and improve women's lives. I stand with NOW in its effort to protect and promote reproductive justice, secure workplace equality, combat racism and homophobia, and end discrimination and violence against all women. This endorsement is an incredible affirmation of support for our progressive campaign.

Meanwhile, John Katko has been a steadfast opponent of women’s rights during his time in Congress. He supports overturning Roe v. Wade, voted against allowing the Equal Rights Amendment to move forward, and has repeatedly voted to defund Planned Parenthood and against equal pay for women.

Women were an incredibly powerful driving force behind Democrats’ success in taking back the House in 2018. We stepped up to volunteer, donate, and run for office to bring real change to Washington.

The stakes for women in this election couldn’t be higher. With current Supreme Court cases threatening women’s reproductive rights and the Affordable Care Act, a gender pay gap that still exists, and still inadequate access to affordable child care in this country, we need leaders in Congress who are prepared to step up and codify our rights with legislation. NOW recognizes these stakes, and I'm so grateful for their support.

Together in NY-24, we will finish what we started and ensure that women in central and western New York have a real champion in Congress. Let's keep moving forward!
