Today we honor Brother
Charles of Arizona for his victory over an unjust
Duopoly
Our movement marches onward.
Brother Charles of Arizona has kickstarted our Arizona operations in a
major way, and reduced the number of signatures we require by 2/3rds,
showing that each one of us can make a difference by speaking up for
what we believe in.
Brother Charles is a volunteer who
stepped up. He sent an email to the Secretary of State requesting
information about how many signatures were required to get Brother
West on the ballot, and followed up with calls every day for three
days. The Secretary of State provided information in their Handbook of
a number of 3% of registered voters in the state, over 120,000
signatures. Brother Charles argued it was closer to 45,000 based on a
number of 3% of registered independents, interpreting the language of
the appropriate Arizona Elections Statute correctly.
Today the Arizona Secretary of
State pulled the handbook off their website, and he heard back from
the Secretary of State’s office via email. They
confirmed that
we only need 3% of the number of registered independents signatures to
get on the ballot. This totals around 45,000 signatures.
Because of Brother Charles we are
that much closer to getting Brother West on the Ballot, and we can
start today! That’s why we need your help, to lead Ballot
Access operations, become an Elector in the electoral college, or
donate today. Even before the votes are counted, every single one of
us still counts!
