This week, students bundled up and headed back to class to start the second semester of the school year. We know that so many of our students were thrilled to return to safe, supportive spaces staffed with caring adults, a fact confirmed to me in a conversation with some remarkable high school students this week during a school visit. 

Statewide, the governor shared his budget proposal for next year, which–despite a huge overall deficit–generally maintains support for public schools. We will continue to push to ensure that our students continue to benefit from the resources they need.
