This year, the House Committee on Ways and Means is considering the renewal of the Child Tax Credit, and I support this decision wholeheartedly.
The Child Tax Credit has proved to be a crucial lifeline for countless families, lifting children out of poverty and providing much-needed financial support as they struggle to afford essentials like food, childcare, and healthcare.

In 2021 alone, the impact of CTC was substantial in Alabama and the numbers speak for themselves.
Over 125,000 children were lifted out of poverty or deep poverty, with more than 21,000 children in Alabama’s 7th benefiting directly from this crucial program.
I believe that the Child Tax Credit is an investment in our country’s greatest asset: our children.
