John,
Oppression is systemic and is engrained in every aspect of our lives. The foundation of this nation is oppression and every system built on this foundation is oppressive.
Systems empower, systems employ, systems enrich and conversely, these same systems disempower and maintain poverty. For there to be someone with power, there must be someone without it, for there to be someone rich, there must be someone poor in this capitalistic society.
Standing on the shoulders of giants, and empowered by so many wonderful individuals, I made the decision long ago, that being too poor to live in the wealthiest nation in the world is not acceptable.
In engaging in efforts to end this truth, I have chosen to build coalitions that rock the boat, speak truth to power, and fight for change. These efforts haven’t been easy and have led to reactions from systems and individuals aimed at ending these efforts, but I always have believed if you are willing to rock the boat, you better be ready to swim.
I thank each and every individual throughout this continued fight that has rocked with me, swam with me, and rocked again.
The game being played is rigged for the working class people to fail, so the question for me moving forward is, do you continue to play the game, thinking picking a new team will make a difference or do you end it?
That question will be answered as I continue on this journey with so many wonderful fighters, but I have to close this chapter with a huge thank you to those who have fought alongside me or allowed me to fight with them up to now.
Thank you to this community that I love, that we love (our team), so much. This chapter may have ended, but there are a few chapters left and I promise you it will be a damn good read!
We dared to struggle in 2020. And when we dare to struggle, we dare to win.
All power to the People.
Anthony
