Last night, the United States military struck more than 60 Houthi targets in response to the terror group’s surging attacks on shipping lanes, American troops, and our ally Israel.
Backed by Iran, the Houthis have carried out more than 125 attacks on American forces in the region since October 7 and have fired missiles toward Israel. Notably, the Houthi motto makes their views and values clear: "God is great, death to America, death to Israel, curse the Jews, victory for Islam."
AIPAC calls on the United States to lead a sustained effort to confront the growing dangers posed by Iran, through increased economic pressure, military action necessary to defend the U.S. and our allies, and creative diplomacy. Read our full statement here.
Israel responds to South Africa: 'A libel' meant 'to deny Israel the right to defend itself'
This morning at The Hague, Israel responded to South Africa’s 'genocide' accusations. Israeli Foreign Ministry Legal Advisor Dr. Tal Becker delivered a strong and thorough rebuke of the outrageous charges, affirming that "If there were acts of genocide, they have been perpetrated against Israel."
"What Israel seeks by operating in Gaza is not to destroy a people, but to protect a people — its people, who are under attack on multiple fronts," Becker told the Court, "and to do so in accordance with the law, even as it faces a heartless enemy determined to use that very commitment against it."
In a powerful statement, Germany blasted South Africa’s genocide charge and announced today that it will intervene on Israel’s behalf in the hearing, declaring: "In view of German history and the crimes against humanity of the Holocaust, the Government is particularly committed to the Convention against Genocide. This convention is a central instrument of international law to implement the principle of 'never again.' We resolutely oppose its political instrumentalization."
100 days.
This Sunday will be 100 days since the October 7 massacre that forever changed Israel and all of us. The families of 136 Israeli hostages will mark 100 days without their loved ones, who continue to endure unimaginable abuse and trauma in Hamas captivity. Rachel Goldberg, whose son Hersh is still being held in Gaza, wears a piece of tape marking each day of his absence. She is calling on the world to join her in wearing the number '100' on Sunday, and each day that follows, until the hostages are brought home.
Urge Senators to vote NO Tuesday on Bernie Sanders’ anti-Israel resolution
At precisely the moment when America should be doing more to help Israel win this war and prevent another October 7 from ever happening again, Senator Bernie Sanders is leading an effort in the Senate to abandon Israel and jeopardize lifesaving U.S. security funding.
Sanders is forcing a vote this Tuesday on a resolution that could lead to the cutoff of ALL American aid to Israel. It must be defeated.
P.S. Israel is facilitating massive amounts of humanitarian assistance to Gaza — including food, water, medicine, fuel, and shelter supplies — despite Hamas continuing indiscriminate rocket fire on Israeli civilians while holding over 130 Israelis hostage. I encourage you to read this new AIPAC memo detailing Israel’s aid transfers.
The mission of AIPAC is to encourage and persuade the U.S. government to enact specific policies that create a strong, enduring and mutually beneficial relationship with our ally Israel.
