Now, House Republicans on the Judiciary and Oversight Committees have recommended Hunter be held in contempt of Congress.

In December, Hunter Biden chose not to comply with a subpoena issued by the U.S. House. His unprecedented decision to ignore this legal demand directly undermines the constitutional oversight duties entrusted to Congress.

This contempt vote is not just about one individual's defiance but symbolizes our dedication to ensuring that no one is above the law. It reinforces our commitment to transparency and accountability, particularly when corruption reaches the highest levels of government.

This week, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 788, the Stop Settlement Slush Funds Act of 2023, a significant step toward ending the practice of misappropriating settlement funds in civil cases.

During the Obama administration the Department of Justice began reallocating funds from court settlements toward partisan, third-party, organizations, circumventing Congressional authority.

This landmark legislation prohibits government officials from directing settlement funds from civil actions to third-party entities, ensuring these funds are used to compensate victims or return to the government.
