Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin's recent failure to inform the executive branch, Congress, and the American people of his incapacitation is an intolerable breach of trust. This week, I joined fellow members of the Senate Armed Services Committee in seeking answers from Secretary Austin regarding his prolonged hospital stay at Walter Reed Medical Center and delayed notification to the President and Congress. Transparency is essential in matters concerning the health of high-ranking officials, especially for a member of the National Security Council during a dangerous moment for U.S. national security. In my latest Weekly Wrap Up video, I recapped the busy week in Washington – from Chuck Schumer's role as a Democratic Party placeholder to the deatils of the current budget process. Right now, Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson is working to secure the most conservative government funding bill possible in a divided government. Unfortunately, a Continuing Resolution for the fiscal year seems likely to avoid a harmful shutdown. I also address the pressing border issue and the necessity of thorough border security legislation. Check it out here.

Winter weather impacted much of our region this week, and we are anticipating colder temperatures and a significant front this weekend. Please exercise caution, check in on elderly relatives and neighbors, and look out for one another -- it's the Oklahoma Standard. Stay tuned to local weather alerts and leave extra time on the roads. Visit Oklahoma's National Weather Service here to brush up on winter weather safety.

I recently appeared on Newsmax, where I shared insights on Hunter Biden's appearance before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability. His ten-minute defiance and reluctance to answer questions underscores the need for increased scrutiny and accountability in ongoing investigations. This situation also raises broader concerns about ethical conduct and transparency within the Biden family. Check it out here.

I also joined Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla this week to discuss the growing House GOP effort to impeach DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for his dereliction of duty at the southern border. The conversation highlighted the urgency of assessing Mayorkas's actions and their impact on national security and immigration policy. You can listen here.

Tuesday was National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. On this day and every day, we salute the brave men and women who stand on the frontlines to protect and serve our communities. Please join me expressing deep gratitude for their unwavering commitment to keeping us safe. Their sacrifice and dedication are truly appreciated.
