THE WEEK'S BIG 3

Newly released data by ADL shows a staggering 360% increase in antisemitic incidents in the U.S. since the October 7 massacre against Israel. ADL announced that it soon will be ranking college and universities’ response to antisemitism after recording over 500 antisemitic incidents on campus over the last three months. A new report examines how extremists have increasingly turned to cryptocurrency due to the mistaken belief that the technology offers anonymity and is impervious to deplatforming.

Antisemitic incidents in U.S. surged 360% after Hamas attack: ADL

“Antisemitic incidents in the U.S. have more than tripled in the three months following the Oct. 7 Hamas attack in Israel, according to new Anti-Defamation League preliminary data. Antisemitic cases involving incidents like physical assault, harassment and vandalism, were higher than the total number of antisemitic episodes tracked in almost every year since ADL started monitoring this data in the late 1970s, the group said Wednesday.”

US Colleges Warned ‘Report Cards’ on Antisemitism are Coming

Colleges across the United States were warned Thursday that they will soon be given report cards evaluating the "climate of antisemitism" on their campuses, following a spike in incidents in recent months. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) said it was developing new tools to assess the state of antisemitism at universities and how leaders were combating anti-Jewish hate. Report cards will then be published each spring for students, parents, guidance counselors and others interested to use when making decisions about applications.” The Messenger:

Crypto's Nazi problem: With few rules to stop them, white supremacists fundraise for hate

“Domestic extremists who receive and send money via cryptocurrency are using major online exchange companies, and those platforms put almost no limits on the activities of hate groups or their sympathizers. That’s the key finding of a new report from the Anti-Defamation League’s Center on Extremism, provided exclusively to USA TODAY. The advocacy organization found users sent money to white supremacist and neo-Nazi groups including the Goyim Defense League, NSC-131 and the National Socialist Movement, and to online extremist propaganda outlets like Counter-Currents and Radio Albion, all using major cryptocurrency exchanges.” USA TODAY:
