As per Senate tradition, after new Senators take their oaths-of-office, current members introduce them to the rest of the Senate. I was honored to have Senator Ghazala Hashmi introduce me. You can watch the video below.

I will be entering my first session introducing the max number of bills, 21. These bills focus on keeping us safe, fighting for Virginia’s future, and making a Virginia that works for all. Below is a brief rundown of my bills.

2024 Legislative Rundown

Keeping us Safe

Senator Saddam Salim is a firm advocate for gun violence prevention measures, making it the top issue of his campaign. That’s why this session, the Senator's office is introducing multiple bills addressing guns and public safety. In addition, Senator Salim is the Chief Co-Patron for SB-2 - The Virginia Assault Weapons Ban with Senator Deeds.

Fighting for Virginia’s Future

When Senator Salim announced his run for office one year ago, he proudly announced that he was running to look out for Virginia’s future. This year, the Senator will introduce bills to protect our environment and create a better Virginia.

In addition, Senator Salim will be introducing budget amendments to fight for our environment, including Electric Vehicle credits and to mitigate invasive plants. In addition, the Senator will fight to ensure that Metro is fully funded.

A Virginia that Works for All

Senator Salim is committed to ensure that we keep working to make Virginia a more equitable place. The Senator will be introducing bills to lift up every Virginian and make it a more affordable place to live.
