Stearns County Sheriff’s Office- Deputy Sheriff/ Community Engagement

Our sheriff when he was newly elected tasked me with setting up a STOP THE BLEED® program for our office. I was able to get a handful of people from the sheriff’s office trained as instructors. I was also able to get our area hospital/medical facility to make a donation to our office to purchase a training kit. I am a school resource officer and have taught my school, along with several school districts in our county. I have also taught several larger businesses in the area and trained their employees. This has been a huge success in our area of engaging the community.

Training is at the heart of the STOP THE BLEED® campaign and STOP THE BLEED® Instructors are the ones that make the heart beat! The Instructor Spotlight shines a bright light on individuals engaging their communities about STOP THE BLEED®.

Ana Paula

Hernández Carballo

As a medical student and Mexican Red Cross paramedic, my passion

for STOP THE BLEED® stems from understanding the crucial

importance of immediate intervention in emergencies. My experience in the field has shown me the direct impact that rapid bleeding control has on patient outcomes. I want to bring this awareness to the community, organizing workshops and advocating for the availability of bleeding control kits in public places. By uniting my theoretical knowledge as a medical student with my practical experience as a paramedic, I seek to not only educate, but also inspire others to join the cause and create a culture of preparedness in our community.
