Coronavirus Update: Leaked documents show McDonald's is lobbying to BLOCK paid sick leave

John -- It's cruel.
No other company has more workers without paid sick leave than McDonald's.

Over half a million McDonald's workers are being forced to make an impossible choice: come to work sick, or stay home and watch your paycheck disappear because we don't have paid sick leave.

Now, leaked documents show that McDonald's is lobbying the Trump Administration to block paid sick leave legislation.

Right now, if we don't work for any reason, we don't get paid. If we get sick we don't get the money we need to stock up on food, keep the lights on, and get crucial medicine. If we get sick, we can't get the things we need to survive this pandemic without ending up on the street.

The good news is that our movement is gaining traction, John.

Thousands of us signed the petition demanding McDonald's provide paid sick leave. And the very next day, McDonald's announced changes to their paid sick leave policy -- but that policy doesn't cover 95% of restaurants.

Now, they are closing dining rooms in stores across the country, meaning even more cuts to our hours. We are at war against a virus that is killing people, but McDonald's is conducting business as usual.

It's scary out there for us, and we need McDonald's to do everything they can right now to protect everyone who wears their uniform.
