It’s a little-known fact that presidential campaigns can qualify for public matching funds, a program introduced after the Watergate scandal to fight the corrupting influence of big money in politics.

For a people-powered grassroots campaign like Jill’s, matching funds can be a game-changer - especially because anti-democratic ballot access laws force us to pour so many resources into simply getting on the ballot.

Here’s how it works: we need to raise at least $5000 in qualifying contributions in at least 20 states. The first $250 from each donor counts toward the $5000 requirement. Once we qualify, everyone’s donations from every state will be matched up to $250. This provides a major infusion of funding we need to put a real alternative on the ballot for all voters across the country!
