Once again, the looming threat of a federal government shutdown is jeopardizing the livelihoods of federal workers, including those protecting our national parks, civilian shipyard employees, and the Coast Guard.

The impact of a shutdown would be felt beyond federal workers. It would hurt small business owners, government service providers, tourism, and more. Most of all, it would hurt families across the district who are already struggling with high costs.

Our region can’t afford another harmful government shutdown. And yet, the chaos and dysfunction in Congress means this is a real threat to our economy. Congress must get back to functioning and working on behalf of working folks.
