Last chance to have your say on the budget proposals

Budget consultation

There are now just a few days to go for people to have their say on the council?s budget for 2024/25, with our formal public consultation ending on Tuesday.

We?ve received more than 3,600 responses, with many people attending face-to-face sessions led by senior councillors and officers. We will consider the feedback received before any final decisions are taken.

Make sure you add your voice over the weekend by filling in our online survey. [ [link removed] ]__

Making it simpler to get out and about

Travel well

The Travel Well programme is focused on making it easier for people in Nottingham to access walking and cycling opportunities.

Last year the Department for Transport announced that Nottingham will get funding to participate in a ?social prescribing? trial in Aspley, Beechdale, Bilborough, Bulwell, St Ann?s and Sneinton.

This will see activities like walking and cycling being offered as part of a plan to improve mental and physical health and reduce health inequalities. Travel Well is led by Nottingham City Council in partnership with the Nottingham Place-based Partnership, Nottingham Community Voluntary Service and Nottingham City GP Alliance.

Save the date for Light Night

Light Night

I?m delighted that Nottingham?s Light Night will return on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 February.

You can see more than 30 immersive and interactive light-based installations, performances and activities for free after dark. Illuminate your imagination as you explore the city centre, from Old Market Square to Binks Yard, and from Sneinton Market to Nottingham Castle. Whether you?re an arts and culture enthusiast, looking for a free family trip out, or are eager to get the perfect shot for Instagram, there?s something for everyone to enjoy.

Light Night is produced by Nottingham City Council and It?s in Nottingham ? the city?s business improvement district. The event is funded by It?s in Nottingham, the National Lottery through Arts Council England, and the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Cultural organisations across the city also support the event.
