I hope you and your family are well! I wanted to provide you with a few updates regarding what’s going on –

Holding Hunter Accountable

On December 13, Hunter Biden defied a Congressional subpoena to be deposed by the House Oversight Committee as part of the impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden.

Unlike in the Biden Administration, Americans know there cannot be two tiers of justice. Hunter Biden cannot use his last name to defy a Congressional subpoena.

On Wednesday, the House Oversight Committee held a hearing to consider a resolution to hold Hunter in contempt of Congress. Hunter Biden showed up only to storm out as Republicans looked Hunter in the eyes and told him he would be held accountable.

Hunter Biden decided to play stupid games, and now he must face the consequences of his actions.

Democrats Exposed

While American cities and communities suffer from the invasion at our southern border, Congresswoman Clarke says she wants to bring illegals to her district “just for redistricting purposes.”

This is how Democrats think about illegals. Use the illegals to seize more power through redistricting to continue pushing failed policies that destroy America as we know it. Only US citizens should be counted for proportional representation.

Here’s the bottom line, the mass movement of non-citizen migrants into states for the intent purpose of holding onto power is wrong!

A Military with No Leader

While I pray for a quick recovery for Defense Secretary Austin, we cannot overlook the abject failure of Austin and the Department of Defense to follow protocol to ensure the military has a leader.

The Biden White House didn’t know about Austin’s hospitalization for three days. Deputy Defense Secretary Hicks was given some of Austin’s duties, but she was on vacation in Puerto Rico.

Hamas wages war on our closest ally Israel, US troops were harmed in an attack, and America carried out an airstrike. Then, Austin went AWOL.

Austin would not allow any soldier under his command to act irresponsibly and leave duty with zero notification to a superior officer and without leave. Austin must resign.

Impeach Mayorkas

Joe Biden’s failed open borders policies have resulted in over 8 million illegal border crossings. Joe Biden and Secretary Mayorkas must be held accountable for the border crisis and invasion that their policies allow.

I fully support impeaching Mayorkas for his failure to enforce the law, for releasing illegal aliens into America, for failing to secure the border, and for misleading Americans about the invasion that is occurring at our southern border.

Biden Blocking American Energy Exports

Instead of bolstering the American liquid natural gas (LNG) industry, Joe Biden is looking for new ways to block the export of American LNG—selling out America to climate activists and adversaries. Let’s be clear:

• American LNG exports are 40 percent cleaner than Russian LNG. 
• America’s ability to export LNG allows us to support our allies and reduce their reliance on Russia.
• Preventing LNG exports would severely impact our national security and global influence.

Bidenomics Continues to Fail

On Thursday, the consumer price index (CPI) rose .3% to close out 2023. The CPI is a reflection of how much it costs you to buy everyday goods. You and I both know that in Joe Biden's economy, it costs you more to put food on the table and gas in your car.

Inflation keeps climbing and the price of goods has increased 17.2% since Joe Biden took office. Bidenomics was, is, and always will be a failure!

Additionally, Joe Biden and his failed Bidenomics policies have destroyed the American dream of home ownership. In October, mortgage rates hit 7.8% which is a 23-year high. On average, mortgage payments have increased by 96% as compared to January 2021.

Stand with Israel

As you know, I want to hear from you at every opportunity to hear exactly what is on your mind as I represent you in Washington.

Recently, there has been an individual who continually calls my office demanding I support Palestine as Hamas attempts to obliterate Israel, I have a simple message for that caller.

I refuse to support Hamas terrorists who behead babies, kill Israelis in their sleep, kidnap children, & kill Americans.

I proudly stand with America's ally Israel!

Standing for the National Anthem

The USA Junior Hockey Team showed more love for America and more patriotism than professional athletes and even Members of Congress after they beat Sweden to win the world junior hockey championship.

The team stood center ice and proudly sang the National Anthem!

It’s great to see that we have a younger generation that is proud of their country and is unashamed to sing our National Anthem.

Congratulations to every member of the team for bringing home the win!

Legislative Action

I cosponsored H.R.6885, Rep. Higgins’ bill to protect election integrity by invalidating the electoral votes of any state that blocks any major party’s official nominee from the Presidential ballot.

I cosponsored H.R.6782, Rep Massie’s bill to revoke the current federal law that bars individuals under the age of twenty-one from obtaining a handgun through a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder.

I cosponsored H.R.6744, Rep Bost’s bill to ensure that the Secretary of Veterans Affairs is barred from providing healthcare services to illegal aliens through VA resources.

In the District

WYFF recently told the story of Matt Blaylock who is a military veteran who suffered from a horrific crash that nearly took his life. Before his crash, Matt did suffer from PTSD due to his military service. The crash left Matt with a traumatic brain injury that meant he needed mental health appointments. Unfortunately, the VA was not providing Matt the care he needed and he checked himself into a mental hospital. Matt and his wife Cay reached out to me and I'm so happy to push back on the VA to ensure Matt receives the care he needs. Praying for you Matt! See Matt's story here.

Congratulations to the Greenwood Pathway House on being awarded a $30,000 grant. The Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards program. The Greenwood Pathway House was voted on by the local community and is the only non-profit in South Carolina to be awarded the grant this year.
