Dear John
I hope you and your loved ones are doing ok in what are
extraordinary times.
During this difficult period, one very heartening thing has been
the number of coronavirus community groups springing up across the
country. We always knew that kindness was contagious and it’s
wonderful to see this in action.
I know that many Liberal Democrats want to play their part in
supporting local communities and there’s been much discussion about
exactly how we can help as a party - without duplication and by adding
value to existing organisations and initiatives.
With the announcement of the Party’s National
Coronavirus Community Taskforce, a plan is coming together. My
team and I have ideas for how we can implement this across the capital
under a “Calling with Kindness” initiative, where we identify people
in need and connect them with the appropriate support.
But I would also love to hear from you - about what you’re already
doing and what other ideas you have. So, with that in mind I’d
like to invite you to join me tomorrow (Friday) at 5.30pm for a
virtual meetup on Zoom:
You will need to download Zoom to join the meeting, but don’t worry
it’s free and easy to use.
This is a time for everyone to work together, to show kindness and
to help the most vulnerable. I hope you can join me in helping our
neighbours.
Kind regards
Siobhan Benita
Liberal Democrat Candidate for Mayor of London
p.s. don’t worry if you can’t make the virtual meet-up
tomorrow, I’ll be updating this list regularly with our plans and
suggestions for how you can help.
