WG Economy: 2024 Winston Group Economic Calendar
The 2024 election season is underway, with both parties trying to define the economy on their terms. The President must convince voters that the economy is moving in the right direction and that his policies are working. Republicans must convince voters that they are better able to lead on the economy.
We have prepared a printable 2024 economic calendar with key dates each month that will be central to the election: jobs reports, inflation CPI reports from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, GDP estimates, and the Personal Consumption Expenditures price index that plays an integral role in the Federal Reserve’s decisions about interest rates. WG Discussion Points: 2024 Presidential
Ballot Test Ranges
WG Discussion Points | David Winston
January 5, 2024
Happy New Year! January kicks off the presidential primary with Iowa caucuses coming up on January 15 and the New Hampshire primary later in the month. Democrats say Biden has plenty of time to shore up his positioning, and that he is being underestimated. But for a sitting president going into a re-election campaign, President Biden is in a weak position. In our first Discussion Points of 2024, we assess the range of current poll performance for the frontrunners based on the Real Clear Politics averages, removing the outliers of the highest and lowest poll results for each candidate. This allows just to see the highs and lows for the candidates in three presidential scenarios, and how much room to run each candidate has. WG Discussion Points, January 5, 2024.pdf
