In what looks like some more knee-jerk reaction “safety protocols,” the Mayor of New Orleans signed a couple of emergency orders that can restrict the sale or transportation of alcohol and firearms.

Officer down: Here’s the hero – and dad – killed trying to stop an active shooter this week

Officer Christopher Walsh and Josiah Overton responded to a report of an active shooter inside of a Kum & Go convenience store. The shooter had been going around the city shooting at different locations before police were able to track him down at the convenience store. Read More.

An Illinois jury convicted a man Friday of first-degree murder in the 2018 shooting death of a Chicago police commander.
With its verdict, announced after just three hours of deliberation, the jury signaled that it had no trouble rejecting the argument made by Shomari Legghette’s attorney that Legghette did not know Cmdr. Paul Bauer was a police officer and shot him in self-defense. Read More.
