John, I'm the only Black woman in the California Senate race – and I'm ready to take the experience, struggles and voice of Black women to the Senate.
But the hard reality is that Black women candidates fundraise just one-third the amount that white candidates do, and that reality has been painfully evident in this race. So I have to ask – can I count on you to chip in a few dollars to my campaign for Senate?

John, as the only Black woman in this race, I'm facing one of the largest glass ceilings in American politics – but I'm no stranger to tough fights.
My entire life, I've had to work twice as hard to get to the same place as my white peers. From working with the NAACP to integrate the girls' cheerleading squad at my high school to juggling college courses, work and raising my two boys, I have never failed at taking on a worthy challenge. And I don't intend to do that here.
John, I'm running for Senate, and I'm ready to fight – despite the many barriers that stand in my way. And I know I can get there, but it'll only happen with the support of people like you.
With less than two months left before primary day, I MUST stay competitive and hit each of my fundraising goals along the way. So I'm humbly asking, to help ensure that Black women have a voice in the Senate for years to come:
Will you rush a donation to my campaign now? I'm ready to bring my decades of progressive experience to the Senate, but I can only do that with your support.
