When someone tells you who they are and what they want to do, believe them.
Last night, at his Fox News town hall event, Donald Trump took credit for the Supreme Court overturning Roe vs. Wade. He said "For 54 years, they were trying to get Roe v. Wade terminated, and I did it. And I’m proud to have done it." And if he’s elected again, he will not stop from going after any and all forms of abortion, in every state of the country. But at least he’s clear about his position and what he plans to do.
In contrast, Republican candidates in swing states are trying to hide who they are and what they plan to do on abortion now that they’ve seen the backlash.
Like a wolf in sheep’s clothing, they know abortion bans are unpopular, especially with women, and they’re hiding their real views and plans to try and win an election.
But make no mistake: if they take the White House and the Senate, they will strip off that sheep’s suit as fast as they can to vote on banning abortion from every angle at the federal level.
And my potential GOP opponents in this Senate race will be happy to help. Every single one of them has either voted for, or is campaigning an extreme anti-abortion agenda that is completely out-of-touch with where Michigan voters are on the issue. A few of them are smart enough to don the sheep’s clothing and try and hide what they have always fought for in previous races.
With the White House and control of the Senate running through Michigan, it's up to us to call BS on this charade .
