Yesterday, a new pro-choice majority kicked off the 2024 legislative session in Virginia! With control of both houses, Virginia Democrats now have the opportunity to protect reproductive rights, voting rights, and LGBTQ rights from attacks by MAGA extremists.

We invested heavily in Virginia last year, running a $400K direct voter engagement program and distributing a comprehensive pro-choice voter guide.

In partnership with Planned Parenthood Virginia PAC, we ran message testing in 16 battleground districts.

This polling confirmed that voters don’t trust Republican leadership when it comes to abortion rights, but they do trust organizations that have consistently established their pro-choice values, like Vote Pro-Choice.

Voters are more likely to support candidates who have the backing of trusted pro-choice organizations, which is why we’ve already begun our endorsement process for 2024.

We know that our work in collaboration with state-based groups helped to produce these victories in Virginia. As the legislative session kicks off, we’re so proud to see a new class of pro-choice champions take the reins, who will fight hard for Virginia families.
