At a time of social distancing, it may sound strange to be talking about building bridges among people. But here at NIAC, we have committed to building those bridges since 2002 — bridges of engagement between Iranian Americans and their elected officials and institutions, bridges of peace between the American people and Iranian people, and bridges of identity between our ancient culture and modern life in America. We have never let a crisis, big or small, get in the way of that commitment — even if the bridges, for now, must be built virtually.
That’s why, with an eye towards Norooz and a season of renewal and new hopes, we are excited to unveil NIAC’s new look and virtual home! Meet the new NIAC logo, a bridge motif that symbolizes our mission and the connections we seek to build for our community. The pattern design harkens to the country and culture of our heritage, inspired by the Kāshi Kāri, or tile work, which has adorned Iran’s landscape, monuments, and art for centuries.
We’re also excited to launch our new website at www.niacouncil.org! Here at our new virtual home, you will find familiar materials from NIAC, NIAC Action, and NIAC Action PAC all on one website, including the latest resources on issues impacting our community, statements and analysis from our experts, and tools for you to get involved and make an impact.
We are looking forward to rolling out several new initiatives in the weeks ahead so we can continue to connect with you virtually — web briefings and videos, our new podcast, and a revitalized focus on community and cultural initiatives.
We hope that, even in these new and challenging times, we can continue to serve as a bridge for our community and stay connected with all of you who continue to make this work possible. Thanks for all you do and let us know what you think of our new look and website!
