John,
This is Anna, the executive director of the Florida Women's Freedom Coalition, and I need to make sure you see this news:
**This week, extremist politicians in the Florida state legislature introduced a bill that would almost completely ban abortions and charge doctors with felonies for providing care that can save lives.**
The actions of these politicians have made me even more convinced that our coalition's work to enshrine the right to abortion into the state constitution is the only way forward – because they won't stop until they've completely stripped away women's bodily autonomy.
Please, if you're able, make a donation to help us reach our emergency $50,000 fundraising goal to fight back against this ban and secure abortion rights for over 4 million women and girls in Florida. Here is the best link to give:

Subject: This is the worst case scenario
John, this is Anna from the Florida Women's Freedom Coalition, and I have an urgent message:
🚨 Extremist politicians in the Florida legislature just introduced a bill that would ban abortions from the moment of fertilization, with no exceptions for rape, incest or health of the mother.
John, let me be clear: This new bill is a full-scale assault on women's bodily autonomy, and we can't let it stand.
We are launching an emergency fundraising goal of $50,000 so we can go all-out in our fight to get abortion rights enshrined in the state constitution through a ballot referendum in November. John, please step up with an urgent donation before midnight.

There are so many parts of this bill that would be absolutely catastrophic for women and girls in Florida:
* There are no exceptions for rape or incest, which is needlessly cruel and traumatizing to survivors of sexual violence.
* Any woman needing an abortion for health complications would be left for dead; the bill only has an emergency health provision for minors.
* By defining personhood as the moment of fertilization, the bill lays the groundwork for banning birth control.
* The bill criminalizes abortion providers, including pharmacy operations that supply lifesaving abortion drugs like mifepristone.
We need to take urgent action – now. The fact that this bill could even be introduced shows that extremist politicians will keep pushing the margins on reproductive freedom until they have total control over women's bodily autonomy.
Our coalition has been hard at work for the last eight months on a way to fight back. Thanks to the support of our incredible activists and volunteers, we've already collected over 900,000 valid petitions to get our constitutional amendment to protect reproductive freedom on the ballot for a popular vote in the fall.

But running a statewide campaign is expensive. Not only do we need to ensure that our amendment actually gets on the ballot, but we also need to convince at least 60% of voters to support the initiative in November.
If we want to secure abortion access once and for all, we can't afford to slow down now. With the stakes so high, we need your support more than ever, so please: Will you rush a donation now to fuel our work to enshrine abortion rights in Florida?
Thank you again.

We're a bipartisan coalition of Floridians fighting to guarantee access to abortion in Florida through a constitutional referendum.
We believe the freedom to make your own health care decisions is important to Floridians in every walk of life, every faith and across the political spectrum.
