Dear John,

Today, January 11, is Human Trafficking Awareness Day.

How can healthcare workers, employers, domestic violence agencies and policy leaders recognize the signs of human trafficking – to help the tens of thousands in the U.S., and millions worldwide, who are affected, and work to stop this human rights violation?

Please join FUTURES and other experts for a series of webinars this month to learn:

  • January 17: How organizations can support the economic well-being of trafficking survivors through job training, financial literacy, and more. Learn more and register.
  • January 23: How medical, legal and anti-violence professionals can address the rise in trafficking and interpersonal violence during a natural disaster or public health emergency. Learn more and register.
  • January 25: How to support individuals with intellectual disabilities who are at a disproportionately higher risk of experiencing human trafficking. Learn more and register.

Futures Without Violence works extensively to stop human trafficking and support survivors. Through educational programming, we spread awareness and provide tools for agencies who work with people who have experienced human trafficking. And we advocate for more effective support at national and global levels through our policy work.

Additional resources are available on the FUTURES websiteHere you will find tools to advance the economic well-being of trafficking survivors, effectively reach LGBTQIA+ youth, and improve collaboration across the many agencies that address trafficking.

Finally, know and share the National Human Trafficking Hotline number with anyone who needs it: 1-888-373-7888.

Make January the month you support your organization to improve its response to human trafficking. Join us in supporting survivors, seeking solutions and advocating for an end to this horrific crime.
