[Partner With AFSP This #GivingTuesday]
Hi ,
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s mission –– to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide –– is more important than ever, as suicide is on the increase in the U.S., with over 49,000 people lost annually to this leading cause of death. But there is reason for hope, as awareness grows and advances in science show how suicide can be prevented.
All of our efforts –– from research, to education, loss support, advocacy, the Out of the Darkness Walks and more, through our nationwide network of local chapters –– require funding. One way to support AFSP through a planned gift is to include us in your will; however, more than half of American adults don’t have a legal will. That means they don’t have a legal plan to take care of the people they love and the causes they care about.
To help, AFSP is partnering with FreeWill to give you the opportunity to write a free, legal will online. Preparing a will is important because it provides the opportunity to direct your resources to those you love and the causes you are most passionate about.
[Write your free legal will now!]([link removed]) Including the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in your plan will cost you nothing today, but will play a crucial role in ensuring our organization is able to continue its important work of saving lives and providing support to all those affected by suicide.
It takes most people only 20 minutes or so to complete their free, legal will — and then all you have to do is sign it along with two witnesses. If you already have a will in place and would like to make AFSP aware that you have included us as a beneficiary, please feel free to [contact us]([link removed]) or complete a planned giving commitment form [here]([link removed]).
The advancements of tomorrow begin today. Join AFSP in leaving a legacy of hope for a world free of suicide.
