Poop salad. It’s not a pretty picture, friend, but it may be what we’re eating. A recent EWG analysis reveals that a single cattle feedlot, producing a staggering 115,000 cows annually, is likely jeopardizing thousands of acres of leafy greens in Yuma County, Ariz. – the source of 90% of the nation’s winter lettuce. Shockingly, the FDA has found E. coli in a canal near the lot but done next to nothing to safeguard our health! Foodborne pathogens such as E. coli and salmonella affect 9.4 million Americans annually, claiming over 1,000 lives. Raw foods like lettuce pose a higher risk, since washing alone cannot eliminate these deadly pathogens. We need the FDA to take action to protect Americans from deadly factory farm waste now. Can we count on you to join us? |
