For the children who lost Medicaid coverage between March and September 2023, 60% lost coverage because of the actions of nine Republican governors.

In a normal, reasonable, world every single Republican governor would put kids first and make it as easy as possible for them to keep their health insurance.

But in today's Republican Party — led by MAGA extremists with radical agendas — these governors are asking working moms and dads to jump through every bureaucratic hoop imaginable.

So now, President Biden is calling on the governors of Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Montana, New Hampshire, Ohio, South Dakota and Texas to lessen the burden on working families. These governors should be taking advantage of flexible federal rules by allowing automatic coverage renewal, ending blanket cancellations due to missing paperwork, steering families toward CHIP if they no longer qualify for Medicaid, decreasing call center wait times, and reducing red tape and inefficiencies.

But, this is entirely up to state governments and their governors.

That's why we need folks in office who put children and families first — not politicians who grandstand for the spotlight and demonize families who need help. Can you chip in $3 to help us send politicians packing when they refuse to protect kids' health insurance? [[link removed]]

It's more important than ever that we all put in the work to help elect the right leaders in Washington. The kind of leaders who will put kids first and stand up for rural families.

See you out there,

Tessa
