We won an Emmy! Wow! On January 15th, the GLAAD community will receive the Governor's Award during the live Emmy telecast on Fox. This award recognizes nearly 40 years of LGBTQ visibility on TV and the profound, transformational, and long-lasting impact our community has had on television and culture at large.

Before we take the stage to accept this prestigious award, will you help us write our speech? Share a TV moment or character that made a profound and transformative impact on you or a loved one.

From ensuring a lesbian kiss on “Roseanne” aired in 1994, to incorporating Elliot Page's transition into the “Umbrella Academy” in 2021, you've helped create moments that changed lives and opinions. And we want to hear about it.

Television has the unique power to tell human stories that grow empathy and acceptance. And our work proves just how effective that power can be: LGBTQ acceptance reached an all-time high in 2023! Through authentic and accurate representation, we're fighting back against the misinformation and hate that attempts to alienate our community, and we're accelerating acceptance — one screen at a time...

Whether you're new to the GLAAD community or you've been here with us since 1985, thank you! None of this would be possible without your support, which means this Emmy doesn't just belong to GLAAD; it belongs to all of us.
