But Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell are doing everything they can to defeat me, and here's the alarming truth: If we lose in Ohio, Democrats are guaranteed to lose the Senate, which would put everything we're fighting for in serious jeopardy.

I grew up in Mansfield, Ohio, a middle-class community of ironworkers, carpenters, autoworkers, and electricians. My parents taught me to work hard, be kind, and serve my community. So I've spent my life doing just that – fighting for the Dignity of Work so that every family has the same opportunity to succeed.

But while I'm fighting for workers and families in the Senate, my GOP opponents are writing themselves million-dollar checks to try and buy this seat. And unfortunately, it might be working: Recent polls show this race is neck and neck.

Now that the election year is officially underway, we need to kick our campaign into high gear. Unlike my opponents, I'm running a people-powered campaign, so I'm counting on every single member of this team to help us win.
