Hi John,

Right, not the best start. We’re just over a week into 2024 and the news is already pretty overwhelming. Energy bills have gone up by 5%. [1] 2023 “smashed” the record for the hottest year by a huge margin. [2] Over 1,000 homes flooded across England after Storm Henk. [3]

We can’t go on like this - we deserve better. Find out how you can push for change this year - join the Greenpeace UK Executive Director Will McCallum in our January kickoff event.

It will be a short, energising Zoom call so it won’t take loads of time out of your day but it will leave you feeling informed and inspired about our exciting new campaign, Project Climate Vote. We already have 500 people signed up, don’t miss out on your place!

This is the year of a general election - and the climate needs a government that will take action. A majority of people in this country are worried about the climate crisis and want the government to unleash the solutions and all the benefits they will bring - from lower energy bills, to a thriving natural world. [4] But many politicians don’t think climate policies will influence how people vote. Project Climate Vote is going to prove them wrong.

The goal is to get as many people as possible across the UK - from Perth to Penzance, from all walks of life - to sign up to vote with the climate in mind at the next general election. Together, we will build a huge group of Climate Voters that political parties can’t ignore as we push them to strengthen their climate policies.

We’re already making huge progress. Since September, our community of 160 volunteers have knocked on over 15,000 doors, had over 5,000 climate conversations and recruited nearly 5,000 Climate Voters. Our goal is to get 1,200 volunteers out on the doors by March - can you help us make this happen? Sign up to the online call to find out how you can get involved as a volunteer with Project Climate Vote.

On the Zoom call you’ll hear from Will and the Greenpeace UK organising team about our plan to escalate the campaign with even more door knocking in areas of the country we can have the biggest impact between now and the general election. Everyone is welcome so bring your friends and family!

By joining us, you’ll help to build a brighter future in 2024.

See you there!
