Trump boasts he's "proud" about his role in overturning Roe v. Wade, the issue that has become ballot-box poison for Republicans
While Republican future also-rans were busy jockeying for the glory of "winning" second place in the largely irrelevant GOP primary, the serial philanderer and notorious sex pest popped up across town in a Fox News softball town hall and touted his role in rolling back reproductive rights 50 years, saying he was "proud" of his Supreme Court judicial appointments that led to the disastrous overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022. "For 54 years, they were trying to get Roe v. Wade terminated, and I did it, and I'm proud to have done it," the disgraced ex-president said, misstating the number of years as Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973. "Nobody else was going to get that done but me, and we did it, and we did something that was a miracle." Bad math aside, the serial grifter is correct — he definitely "did it." Let no one forget this November at the ballot box, folks.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump goes on unhinged rant amid disaster court appearance
The serially indicted ex-president took time away from his busy schedule losing in court and descended into an unintelligible word salad rant about absolute immunity, claiming that sitting presidents are apparently allowed to commit criminal acts with impunity — news that would come as quite a shock to the framers of the United States Constitution and the 45 other people who've held the post (well, maybe not Nixon, but we digress...). What Trump is positing isn't a president, it's a king.

Chris Christie drops out of the 2024 presidential race, hits Nikki Haley in hot-mic admission
Former New Jersey Gov. and one-time Trump enabler Chris Christie, who made denying the treasonous grifter a second shot at the presidency the central theme of his latest failed bid for the Oval Office, formally dropped out of the race on Wednesday, having never polled higher than a few points, despite more than a year of heavy campaigning. Christie declined to endorse any of his feckless opponents on his way out the figurative door, and was caught in a hot-mic moment specifically warning that Nikki Haley would "get smoked" in her own doomed bid. "I want to promise you this," Christie told supporters in New Hampshire. "I’m going to make sure that in no way do I enable Donald Trump to ever be president of the United States again. And that’s more important than my own personal ambition." Where was that moral clarity in 2016, Chris?

Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis duke it out in latest Republican debate to see who comes in second to Trump
The fifth and largely meaningless Republican presidential debate started and ended with barbed exchanges between Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis, while the serially indicted ex-president again opted to skip the affair entirely, sitting approximately a thousand points ahead in most polls. Haley and DeSantis spent the evening hurling personal insults back and forth and awkwardly dishing out rehearsed one-liners, accurately portraying each other as ineffectual liars and craven opportunists whose past records prove neither is remotely up to the task. Finally, something we can agree on!

GOP House members begin floating ouster of Speaker Mike Johnson
If you're wondering whether radical right-wing goons in the GOP clown caucus learned anything from their deeply embarrassing and self-defeating ouster of former Speaker Kevin McCarthy and the weeks of paralyzing turmoil that followed, the answer is a resounding "no." Republican hardliners' revolt against a party-line vote on Wednesday kicked off a flurry of speculation on Capitol Hill about whether nascent Speaker Mike Johnson is at risk of a similar removal effort just months into the job. 2024, picking up right where 2023 left off!

Florida school district bans DICTIONARIES under incredibly stupid and dangerous DeSantis law
In a sign the apocalypse may be upon us after all, actual dictionaries and encyclopedias are among the more than 2,800 books that a Florida school district has pulled from library shelves in an effort to comply with a deeply dangerous, anti-intellectual law that part-time Florida Gov. and moralistic brow-beater Ron DeSantis signed last year. The Escambia County School District said the books that have been banned pending further investigation "may violate H.B. 1069," which "gives residents the right to demand the removal of any library book that 'depicts or describes sexual conduct,' as defined under Florida law, whether or not the book is pornographic." Supreme Court to decide whether or not to disqualify Trump
MoveOn: We all saw Donald Trump incite an insurrection on January 6th, 2021, and Section 3 of the 14th Amendment of the Constitution states clearly that no “President… shall have engaged in insurrection.” It doesn’t get much clearer than that! Furthermore, Trump has made clear that if given the chance, he’d do it all again, without an iota of restraint — in his own words, “a dictator on day one.” With the matter going to the Supreme Court, even its right wing justices have to acknowledge that they cannot defend the Constitution and allow Trump to return to the White House. The stakes could not be higher and the law is clear, but we can’t take anything for granted. Will you add your name to tell the Supreme Court to uphold their constitutional obligations and disqualify Trump from the presidency as dictated in the 14th Amendment?
White House unveils $623 million in funding to boost electric vehicle charging points
The Biden administration has unveiled $623 million in funding to boost the number of electric vehicle charging points in the US, amid concerns that the transition to zero-carbon transportation isn’t keeping pace with goals to tackle the climate crisis. The funding will be distributed in grants for dozens of programs across 22 states, such as EV chargers for apartment blocks in New Jersey, rapid chargers in Oregon, and hydrogen fuel chargers for freight trucks in Texas. There are about 170,000 electric vehicle chargers in the US, a huge leap from a network that was barely visible prior to Biden taking office, and the White House has set a goal for 500,000 chargers to help support the shift away from gasoline and diesel cars.
Rep. Moskowitz takes Republicans to task for their outrageous hypocrisy in Hunter hearing
House Republicans unloaded on Hunter Biden for having the courage to show up to their outrageous show trial, complaining bitterly about how he ignored their subpoenas and vowing to punish him for it. But Democratic Rep. Jared Moskowitz wasn't about to let them get away with it, because guess who *else* ignored congressional subpoenas? Oh, right. Reps. Scott Perry, Jim Jordan, Mo Brooks, Andy Biggs, and Kevin McCarthy ALL previously ignored subpoenas to appear before the January 6 House Select Committee. "There’s an amendment coming to add some of those names into the contempt order. You vote to add those names, and show the American people that we apply the law equally, not just when it’s Democrats...Show that you're serious and that everyone is not above the law," said Moskowitz. The cowardly Republicans did not vote to hold themselves in contempt.
