Hey team, just checking in --

With everything that's going on in our nation and across the world, we wanted to reach out and let you know the whole PeopleGreater team is with you in this trying time.

We've always said that people are greater than any challenge that faces us, and in this time of social distancing, that could not be more true. COVID-19 is a public health crisis and the public must work together to contain it.

While all of our lives and work are impacted, we can't lose sight of how we can each take care of our communities and one another. It's more important than ever.

We're committed to sharing with you digital-first actions and organizing that will help you stay educated and fight for a fairer future for all, as we practice social distancing.

Here are some quick resources to get started:

→ Learn how inequity is exacerbating the outbreak of COVID-19 to understand why it's imperative that we uplift and support marginalized communities and at-risk individuals at this time: [link removed]

→ Find out more about how COVID-19 is impacting vulnerable communities, such as those seeking asylum at the border ([link removed]) and incarcerated people ([link removed]).

→ Sign the petition to tell the U.S. government to have a comprehensive response to the outbreak, including paid sick leave, expanded unemployment insurance, and more: [link removed]

→ Bureaucratic institutions can be hard to wade through, especially in times of stress. If your job has been impacted by the outbreak, get all the info on unemployment assistance from this guide from the New York Times: [link removed]

→ If you're experiencing food insecurity, or are able to make a donation to help support those who are, find a food pantry in your community: [link removed]

→ Social distancing and long periods of isolation can take a toll. Take some time to build a self-care plan that works for you: [link removed]

No matter what you do, please stay safe and take care of yourself. We're thinking of you right now, and so glad you're a part of this community.

PeopleGreater will be back with more updates, action alerts, and information as this situation evolves.

In solidarity --

Emi and the PeopleGreater team

P.S.: Cabin fever is not a joke, y'all! I'm staying cool by having lots of solo dance parties to Maggie Rogers' music ([link removed]). Is there an activity, song, video, recipe, etc. that's keeping you sane right now? Shoot me an email and let me know!
