Protecting youth from vaping
Vaping has become one of the most popular forms of substance use among young people, despite growing evidence of its health risks and harms. As parents and caregivers, we want to do all we can to protect our children from the negative effects vaping can have on a young person’s developing brain.

How to talk to a loved one about substances
When connecting with a child or young person in your life about vaping or marijuana, it’s important to remember:
- Not to lecture – try to listen and understand their perspective
- Be clear about your position
- Let them know that this is a health concern
- Avoid focusing on punishment
