Set in late 19th-century Boston, new American opera THE MURDERESS is a bone-chilling tale of murder and mercy. Based on real-life nurse turned serial killer "Jolly Jane" Toppan, THE MURDERESS is perfect for true crime lovers and opera aficionados alike.

First premiered in Kansas City earlier this year, THE MURDERESS is the first opera by Lawrence-based composer Allison McIntosh and librettist Trip Venturella. Featuring four fabulous singers and a six-piece orchestra, this is an intimate operatic experience designed to thrill.
