Ohio House Votes to Override Governor’s Veto of Bill Protecting Kids From Transgender Surgeries, Hormones
- The Ohio House of Representatives voted Wednesday to override Republican Gov. Mike DeWine’s veto of a bill that would protect children from irreversible transgender sex-change procedures and medical interventions, such as puberty blockers and hormones.
- Children, who often suffer mental distress, and their parents are being coerced by some officials to make life-altering and medically dubious decisions without fully understanding the impact.
- The medical industry should not be allowed to experiment on children with drugs and procedures that show no improvements and typically lead to sterilization and lifelong medical issues.
- Bureaucrats also should not be allowed to corrupt women's sports by requiring that boys and men who identify otherwise be allowed to play.
- Our federal, state, and local governments should protect the well-being and opportunities of all children instead of pushing a dangerous ideology.

Jews Have a Home in the Conservative Movement
- The left’s betrayal is an opportunity for Jews to reassess which side truly embraces their most essential values.
- Politically speaking, over recent decades significant parts of the American Jewish community have become ever more liberal and secular while enthusiastically embracing progressive orthodoxies.
- In the wake of the Oct. 7 massacre, however, they have been shocked to discover that the movements and candidates they supported have no interest in supporting Jews. They have suddenly realized that the values promoted by these organizations and politicians are not those the Jews thought they had shared. Many Jews now feel they are politically homeless.
- In their hearts, Jews both here and abroad have always viewed America as a force for good in the world. They have clung to Western traditions rooted in ancient Jerusalem, Athens and Rome; traditions that hold all individuals are made in the image of God and deserve equal treatment under the law.
- Conservatives cherish these Western traditions; not because they are old, but because they foster human flourishing. They are an expression of God’s will. That is why conservatives support the equal treatment of individuals on the basis of merit, the opportunity to prosper and the realization of Jewish statehood in the Jewish homeland.
- Jews have allies in the conservative movement, eager to embrace them with open arms.

Death to DEI
- The shocking resignation of Harvard University president Claudine Gay gave conservatives more momentum to push back against diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education and other institutions.
- DEI ideology, which arose from academia with a narrative of oppressor vs. oppressed, puts immutable characteristics like race and gender as more favorable than merit.
- The moral rot we have seen on college campuses has largely been influenced by DEI bureaucracies that exist to promote this woke agenda.
- DEI programs are racist because the offices and their activities are designed to promote racial preferences above everything else.
- These offices also support so-called bias response teams that chill free speech on campus and promote self-censorship.
- States like Oklahoma, Iowa, Florida, and Texas are rightfully pushing back to end DEI’s discrimination, and more policymakers should follow suit as legislative sessions start this year.
