![]() This past week Alex has been hard at work at Holyoke City Hall making important decisions to keep his communities safe.
Alex declared a state of emergency last week and made the decision to close the mall and large retail establishments. His administration has implemented free meal pick-up programs for students and homeless residents and families. And he's made himself available to constituents, going live on Facebook and directly answering questions.
In addition, he continues to be in daily communication with other local and state leaders to ensure that Massachusetts is doing everything possible to promote everyone's health and safety.
And as he takes care of his duties to his city, we're holding down the fort here at virtual campaign HQ. We continue to rally behind Alex because he continues to reflect the qualities of a true leader for the people.

There is only so much Alex can do on the local level. On the federal level, it took Congress days to agree on the provisions for a coronavirus relief bill even after Republicans forced Democrats to strip it of essential protections.
We need more voices in Congress who will fight harder for working families, especially during times of crisis.
We can count on Alex to be that voice, because when he leads, he leads with his communities at his side. He will fight for us, so we need to fight for him now.
Together we can and will lead Massachusetts' First District forward.
