National Nurses United

Nurses across the country report that they are not receiving the proper staffing, personal protective equipment, training, or isolation rooms they need to safely care for COVID-19 patients.

This is unconscionable. At a moment when we are asking nurses and other health care workers to step up and protect people, we must be able to protect them as well.

We need your voice right now. Will you sign our urgent petition to demand that Congress do everything in its power to protect nurses during this crisis?

Our nurses need protection »

And after you sign, we’ll give you everything you need to help spread the word on social media and beyond.

The time is NOW to take all precautions to protect nurses and health care workers on the frontlines. Early reports show that health care workers are at great risk for serious illness despite their younger age – which means that the stakes couldn’t be higher.1

For months NNU has demanded workplace protections, safe staffing, and the personal protective equipment like masks and gloves that nurses need to help fight COVID-19. But in a NNU survey, only 56% of RNs report having access to N95 masks and only 27% have access to PAPRs. If nurses aren't safe, patients aren't safe.

Will you sign our letter to Congress calling for stronger protections for nurses, which will protect all of us in this crisis?

Our health care system is woefully unprepared for the crisis we’re in and for what’s to come. That’s because our current health care system was not built for a crisis or even for public health; it was built for profit

It is in the interest of all Americans that everyone gets the health care they need, when they need it. A pandemic like this amplifies the fundamental truth that the only thing that will keep EVERYONE safe is a robust public health care system.

We’re in this together,
