John, it’s been three years since the violent insurrection incited by then-president Donald Trump on the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to stop the peaceful transfer of power.

Three years later, MAGA Republicans are continuing their attacks on our democracy and freedoms.

Here’s what the extremists don’t get: The people are not with them on the climate crisis or their attempts to undercut our health care access.

Trump has said he has a few big goals if he wins in November: Gut the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which is Democrats’ landmark climate mitigating and prescription price lowering law, and undercut the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which makes health care affordable and accessible to millions of Americans.

Trump gave his Party strict orders to attack climate science, affordable and accessible health care, reproductive rights, and more. We need to send a clear message to Trump and his allies that we will not let these plans be enacted.

As a doctor and representative in Congress, I know that our country can’t afford the repercussions of life without affordable and accessible health care and effective climate action.
