In light of recent events in the news, this week’s E-Speaks highlights Autism Speaks resources for talking about, and coping with, tragedy. Limiting children’s exposure to the news, especially surrounding a tragic event, can be difficult, and making sense of these events can be even harder. While it’s never easy to discuss these types of events with our children, some children with autism may experience difficulty processing this information as well as understanding and expressing their emotions. We hope that the resources below will help offer comfort and support.
