<[link removed]>My Dear and Precious Siblings,
It’s almost unbelievable that in one week the United States and the entire world will be celebrating what would have been the 95th Birthday of Brother Martin Luther King Jr. And while we’ve heard it many, many times before, this year’s celebration is different as it calls for massive introspection of this pivotal moment in the story of these United States.
Many of you are aware that I take great umbrage with the deodorizing, sanitizing, and Santa Clausification of Brother Martin - you’ve heard me speak on it*, you’ve read my words on it**, and this year you are bearing witness to me doing something about it and much more as an Independent candidate for President of the United States. As I have frequently noted, the major threat to Brother Martin’s legacy is both spiritual and moral.
Additionally, as we approach his eponymous national holiday we run the risk of further adulterating the courageous and compassionate lessons he provided and gave his life for that deracinate the mendacious and dominant liberal soul-craft of organized greed, endless war, baleful bigotry and racism, execrable levels of poverty, and runaway climate change driving us to ecocide.

I am humbly asking all of you to take part in our Love Warriors MLK Day of Selfless Service in ways that embody Brother Martin’s sage aphorism, “Everybody can be great because anyone can serve.” Click here to view our toolkit and take part in this special day. <[link removed]>
Our Love Warrior Day of Action toolkit includes numerous acts you can take part in that demonstrate King’s radical departure from the status quo of the dominant and spiritually obscene values of hyper capitalism, individualism, and materialism. You each have an opportunity to also demonstrate the highest aspirations of our people-driven campaign and movement in the spirit of Brother Martin - true democracy, collective justice, and people-centered human rights.
While there are some for myriad reasons who may not be able to directly take part in the Love Warrior MLK Day of Service, there are still many ways that you can be involved by spreading the word, taking pictures and videos, and even by simply sharing the special piece of art for this day created by our brilliant and enigmatic campaign artist, Brother Fish.
Most importantly, I beseech you all to resist the empty rhetoric, hand picked and subjective Brother Martin quotes blathered by the derelict duopoly to serve itself rather than you and the true, radical legacy of Martin King. For we, as Love Warriors know that through service we can collectively demonstrate what a community driven day of truth, justice, and love looks like.
We have a chance to collectively communicate that like this campaign is a moment in a movement, the Love Warrior MLK Day of Service is one of many more that we need to bring ourselves and our nation together, indivisible, under God or whatever spiritual or moral force that calls to and through you.
I truly can't wait to see you all in action and appreciate you for all you are and all you do.
With Love Supreme,
Brother Cornel West
