The data and lessons learned from Arlington’s Guarantee and other pilots are being used to advocate for child tax credit expansions at the state level and national policy that would create a federal income floor under which no one in our country can fall.
Some evaluation highlights are that participants experienced:
- significantly increased employment overall,
- better job schedules that allowed them to be more involved in their children's lives,
- significant improvements in their physical and mental well-being,
- an increased sense of personal control over their future, and
- an increased sense of belonging in the community.
Several pilot participants will bring these lessons to life as they share a bit of their personal experiences at the event.
Moderated by Arlington’s Guarantee project director Anne Vor der Bruegge, and featuring panelists from Kresge Foundation, Arlington Department of Human Services, and Arlington Community Foundation, this informative discussion will take a look at what's next for the guaranteed income movement at a local, state, and national level.
