Lauren Underwood For Congress

John,

Yet another New York Times article published this week highlights the preventable crisis Black mothers face every day: the extreme risk of pregnancy-related complications that lead to death three times more often than white mothers.

Our ongoing calls and unified efforts as a team for Lauren’s Momnibus Act is getting attention, and states are attempting to address this alarming crisis. But we need a nationwide solution that the Momnibus provides to give more moms a fighting chance.

We know that moms can’t wait.

There are 13 bills within this comprehensive legislation that have the solutions to address the racial and ethnic disparities in maternal health care — including the Protecting Moms Who Served Act that was signed into law in November 2021.

The evidence is clear: signing the Momnibus into law will confront disparities in health care outcomes and save moms’ lives.

With Congress back in session but still held hostage to MAGA Republican infighting, we need to be loud to be heard over their chaos and confusion.

If enough of us step up, we can show leaders in Washington they need to take action on the remaining bills that our team, experts, and activists across the country know will tackle this urgent crisis.

Momentum is on our side, and we’re ready to get this done. John, will you please chip in $10 or any amount today to help us build the resources to get Lauren’s Momnibus Act across the finish line this year and finally give the Black maternal health crisis the attention it deserves?
