News from Representative Allred

Dear John,

I was born and raised right here in North Texas and I’ve seen our region grow and change. We need modern infrastructure solutions that meet our community’s needs. I’m so proud to announce that Texas will receive $85 million to develop our state’s hydrogen fuel and electric vehicle infrastructure. I worked with both parties to pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which made this grant possible.

North Central Texas Council of Governments in coordination with local leaders, will receive $70 million to build up to five hydrogen fueling stations in Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Austin and San Antonio, and $15 million to install up to 100 charging ports at publicly accessible electric vehicle charging stations throughout North Texas. This is a huge step forward and positions Texas at the forefront of emerging transportation technologies.

The proposed hydrogen fueling stations will create a hydrogen refueling network for medium- and heavy-duty freight trucks and will further connect Texas regional economies.

The proposed electric vehicle charging stations will be built throughout the 16 counties in the Dallas-Fort Worth region to give North Texans more options to charge their vehicles and ensure access for underserved communities. It will help reduce pollution, keep our air clean and create jobs along the way.

I will always look for ways to work together to deliver improvements for Texas that spur our economy.

Sincerely,
