*Census Bureau Releases Summary File for 2020 Census Detailed DHC-A*
*JANUARY 10* ? The U.S. Census Bureau today released a set of summary file tables [ [link removed] ] in response to data users? requests for another way to download data in bulk from the 2020 Census Detailed Demographic and Housing Characteristics File A [ [link removed] ] (Detailed DHC-A) that was released on September 21, 2023.
The Detailed DHC-A Summary File provides the most comprehensive detail on race, ethnicity and tribes among all 2020 Census data products. It contains data on population size and, for groups that meet specified population thresholds, sex-by-age counts for detailed race and ethnicity groups and American Indian and Alaska Native tribes and villages. The summary file also contains data for regional race and ethnicity groups.

Detailed race and ethnicity data are presented in four tables:
* T01001: Total Population.
* T02001: Sex by Age (4 age categories).
* T02002: Sex by Age (9 age categories).
* T02003: Sex by Age (23 age categories).
Each table provides data for groups that meet specified population thresholds for the nation, the 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, counties, places, census tracts and American Indian/Alaska Native/Native Hawaiian areas.

In addition to the summary file tables, data users can use the Application Programming Interface (API) to work with large volumes of data.
